New Collaborative Community Project - Always the Sound of Water
I have been collecting images and sound recordings of water locally since 2020. I woke up one morning after taking this photograph at Devil’s Bridge Falls, Pontarfynach, with the line “Always the Sound of Water” in my head.
This title hasn’t left me and I am now looking for collaborative partners to make an immersive, poetic, visual and sound artwork celebrating Welsh rivers and streams. Additionally, this artwork would draw attention to, and also contribute to, action on pollution and degradation of the water. This project will look for involvement from citizen scientists e.g. volunteer water testers, and anyone on, in or near local waters, to record their experiences including the sound of the environment around their local rivers.
Please do contact me, Sally, if you are interested in getting involved or would like to sponsor the funding of this work. I am hoping to produce final work in 2026 for touring exhibitions and online dissemination.
